Configuration Time Test
Purpose
This test is intended to validate the time taken for the SPS to complete full signal processing configuration of a subrack.
8 TPMs are configured in the test to make up a full subrack. If less than 8 TPMs are included in the test config file, configuration is repeated an appropiate amount of times to make up the 8. The most demanding configuration scenario is assumed for each TPM.
Methodology
Arbitrary data is prepared before the configration to populate the TPMs’ signal processing configration registers.
The initial conditions of these registers are read and stored.
The beamformer region configuration registers are set for 8 TPMs.
The pointing delay registers are set for 8 TPMs.
The calibration coefficient registers are set for 8 TPMs.
The pointing delays are loaded and calibration bank switched for 8 TPMs.
All configuration is complete, calculate the time elapsed for each stage.
Evalute the total time taken against the set limit in seconds.
Reset the configration registers to their initial values.
