PreADU Test

Purpose

This test determines the presence of a preADU fitted to each TPM and tests control of this preADU, including setting the preADU attenuation.

NOTE: If no preADU are detected on any TPMs in the station, the test will be skipped.

Methodology

  1. Check if any preADUs are present in the TPM. If the TPM has at least one preADU, power OFF and ON all the preADUs. If there are no preADUs, skip steps 3 and 4 and test the next TPM.

  2. Check if a preADU unit is fitted to the TPM. If not, skip steps 3 and 4.

  3. Test writing and reading back attenuations to the preADU

  4. Test writing and reading back floating point attenuations to the preADU

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 on the next TPM until all TPMs have been tested.

  6. Once all TPMs are tested, report the percentage of preADUs detected and the locations of any not detected.
